Henderson, KY Plays Major Role In Points Race

This weekend, Cabela’s King Kat Anglers will hit the waters of the Ohio River at Henderson, KY with a chance to win big cash and catch big cats! In 2008, we saw the heaviest 5 fish stringer in our history when Kerns and Edwards brought 196lbs to the scale, and that record still stands today! River conditions are shaping up in a way that we could be in store for another big weigh-in this Saturday at Riverfront Park! The weigh-in will start about 3pm, those interested in catching a glimpse of these monster cats as they are weighed in should come down about 2:45pm. Bring a lawn chair and a camera! No fillet knives will be necessary as all fish will be returned to the river!

Not only will there be big fish, but some of the biggest names in catfishing will be on hand this weekend showcasing their ability to catch these trophy catfish! With just 3 events remaining in 2011, Henderson will have major implications in the Rippin Lips “AOY” Points Race, which is extremely tight at this point. It appears that a large number of the teams challenging for the Points Race will find themselves in Henderson this weekend. Last years Champions Jerry Cline II and Mark Farrow are setting 1pt behind the current leaders Jerry Cline I and Joe Ludtke, who won the Dubuque, IA $10,000.00 Super Event two weeks ago. James and Janet Fox set in third place and are no strangers to Henderson, KY as they had a 57lb blue cat last year that was the big fish of the tournament. One of hottest teams in the country Daryl and Jason Masingale, just won at Cadiz, KY with an amazing 178lb stringer, and if they can manage another top finish this weekend it would be their 4th, which is the qualifying number in the points race. Monster Rod Holder owner, Steve Douglas, who has finsihed 2nd overall in the “AOY” standings the past two years, and has 2 top 5 finishes in each of his last two tournaments, can put himself near the top with a big weight Saturday as well! Willie Smith and Drew Benner have 3 top 6 finishes and if they are able to add another top 5 to their resume Saturday, it would put them amongst the top! Thats just to name a few! With 3 events remaining, their is still time for others to rise to the top. But for that to happen, teams will have to make it happen in Henderson this weekend!

Registration tonight will be at the Super 8 from 5-7pm and capt. meeting will start at 7pm!
