Cabela’s King Kat returns to the Ohio River @ Gallipolis, OH with a $5,000.00 guaranteed payback event! This location, due to the efforts of the WV DNR, has  seen a drastic increase in the number of blue cats being caught. For years, this event has been dominated by massive flathead catfish, but the blue cats are quickly closing that gap. In 2011, we had several limits of blue cats weighed-in, not to mention a few years back Lynn Lange set the WV blue cat state record at 29.75lbs. WV DNR expects that record to be broke multiple times over the next few years!

This event is sponsored by the Gallia County CVB

In conjunction with this event, Cabela’s King Kat will host a FREE KIDS FISHING RODEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A FREE KIDS FISHING RODEO will take place at the Bob Evans Farm Pond from 9-11am. It is free for kids 12 and under. All participants must be accompanied by an adult and are encouraged to bring their favorite rod and reel. At this location over the years, the kids have caught the most fish using worms, crickets, or millworms. ALL PARTICIPANTS will be registerd to win 1 of (6) $1,000.00 college scholarships that will be drawn at the Crappie USA Classic this Oct.
